A Starless Sky

A Starless Sky

We look upto the stars
And see so many different things.
Do you know what I see?
A thousand stars staring down at me.
Twinkling, winking and of course shining.
They form figures and shapes by joining
Making me wonder who created them.
Are they souls like some people say?
Or are they balls of gas bellowing away?
But every night near the window by my bed,
When I stare into the sky way up ahead,
Calmness, peace and life is what I see,
Such a rare sight to see.
Was earth like those stars?
Twinkling, winking and shining?
Or are we just inky blackness?
A starless sky.
